Forecast consensus from National Weather Service and model guidance centers the September 5 high in downtown Los Angeles near 80–85°F, driven by morning marine layer clearing under southwest flow and limited cloud cover. This positions the 80–81°F bin as the market leader, with nearby 78–79°F and 82–83°F outcomes reflecting small differences in projected wind strength, residual humidity from distant tropical moisture, and exact marine layer depth. El Niño-enhanced ocean temperatures have reduced typical coastal cooling this season, yet early September patterns favor moderation over extreme heat. Updated NWS runs and afternoon model cycles over the next 48 hours will likely tighten the distribution ahead of resolution.
