This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 12 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=katl This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Recent National Weather Service and model guidance point to a high temperature in Atlanta on September 12, 2026, most likely in the mid-to-upper 80s, with substantial uncertainty from cloud cover and precipitation.** Official forecasts from the NWS and supporting sources consistently show daytime highs in the upper 80s (around 84–89°F), with temperatures peaking midday before falling into the lower 80s as showers and thunderstorms develop, especially in the afternoon. High rain chances (40–90% in many runs) and associated cloudiness are expected to limit solar heating and produce evaporative cooling, keeping the peak below the hotter conditions seen earlier in the month. This spread in market-implied probabilities—led closely by 86–87°F (20%), followed by 82–83°F (18.5%) and 84–85°F (18%)—reflects genuine forecast variability in the exact timing, coverage, and intensity of convection, as well as differences among model runs on steering patterns and moisture. Southwest flow, high humidity, and a modest pressure gradient support scattered to likely thunderstorms, which can suppress maxima by several degrees depending on when they initiate. Historical September baselines in Atlanta average highs near 84–85°F, so the current setup sits near or slightly above normal but tempered by the incoming moisture. Traders appear to be weighting the balance between partial clearing that could allow a brief spike near 88–89°F versus earlier or heavier rain locking in a lower peak. Updated NWS briefings and model runs over the next 24–48 hours will likely narrow the range ahead of market resolution.
