With 2026 regulations introducing revised power units, aerodynamics, and sustainability measures, teams enter with limited on-track data for the layout, placing heavy emphasis on simulator work, tyre management strategies, and adaptation to the unknown track characteristics. Current championship momentum favors Mercedes drivers Kimi Antonelli and George Russell following strong early-season results, while Lewis Hamilton’s recent Barcelona victory for Ferrari highlights the competitive shifts possible under the new rules. Head-to-head markets will likely hinge on team-mate battles, recent qualifying form, and how squads manage the demands of a high-altitude or variable-weather weekend at an untested circuit. Late-season schedule compression and playoff implications for constructors’ points add further context for driver and team performance expectations.
