Silver prices currently trade near $63–$64 per ounce following a volatile August session that saw intraday moves above $65, supported by persistent structural supply deficits and robust industrial demand from solar, electronics, and AI sectors. A weaker U.S. dollar, lower real yields, and expectations for additional Federal Reserve easing have bolstered the metal’s dual role as both monetary asset and input. The gold-silver ratio remains elevated, while safe-haven flows tied to geopolitical tensions add support. Key near-term catalysts include the July CPI release on August 12 and PPI the following day, alongside retail sales data, which could shift market-implied rate paths and volatility measures such as the dollar index or Treasury yields. Traders are monitoring these releases for any surprise inflation readings that might alter positioning ahead of the week’s close.
