Ignacio Elvira and Keita Nakajima share the narrowest edges in this wide-open Omega European Masters field at Crans-sur-Sierre because both arrive with the strongest recent momentum and proven ball-striking on mountain layouts. Elvira sits tied for second after a course-record-tying 62 in round two, building on his British Masters runner-up finish and earlier 2026 victory, while Nakajima’s consistent top finishes on the PGA Tour, including a T3 at the Scottish Open, reflect reliable iron play that suits the tight, elevation-heavy greens. The rest of the leaderboard—led by Thriston Lawrence but featuring a deep group of in-form Spaniards, South Africans, and Europeans—remains tightly bunched, underscoring how course history, current strokes-gained trends around the green, and weekend positioning can quickly reshape implied probabilities in a 72-hole event without a dominant favorite.
