Arizona voters will decide Proposition 318 on November 3, 2026, after Republican lawmakers referred the measure to the ballot in June via HCR 2003. The proposal would require schools and athletic associations to designate teams by biological sex recorded on original birth certificates, barring males from female teams while expanding restrictions to restrooms, locker rooms, and showers integral to athletics. The U.S. Supreme Court’s late-June ruling upholding similar state bans in Idaho and West Virginia removed key legal obstacles tied to a blocked 2022 Arizona law, bolstering momentum. A subsequent court challenge seeking to block the measure from the ballot failed in July. These developments, set against Arizona’s divided legislature and competitive electorate, underpin trader consensus favoring passage at the current implied probability.
