Recent polling shows the Parti Québécois leading vote intentions near 28-30%, with the CAQ surging to 23-27% and the PLQ falling to around 20-23% in the days after the October 5 election was called. The CAQ gains appear concentrated among francophones and older voters, partly at the PLQ’s expense, while the Liberals retain strength among anglophones and allophones in Montreal. Seat models project the PQ ahead for a plurality, the PLQ positioned for official opposition, and the CAQ, PCQ, and QS competing lower in the order. Regional variations, second-choice flows, and campaign momentum on trade and sovereignty issues keep the contest for third place fluid among the PLQ, CAQ, and smaller parties.
