Daejon Labrayae Love has been federally charged in the District of Oregon with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud (see: https://www.justice.gov/usao-or/pr/man-posing-san-francisco-49er-charged-defrauding-over-two-dozen-women-out-more-13). This market will resolve to "Yes" if Daejon Love is convicted of at least one fraud or conspiracy to commit fraud charge by either June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET or, in the event of a mistrial, by the end of any retrial that begins before that date. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". For purposes of this market, a fraud charge or conspiracy to commit fraud charge will encompass any named form of fraud. If this case ends due to a dismissal, or results in any situation in which no judgment is rendered by the court, or results in a verdict of Not Guilty for all relevant charges (including by reason of lack of criminal responsibility due to mental illness), this market will resolve to "No". A plea agreement will qualify to resolve this market "Yes" only if it results in a judgment of conviction for at least one of the relevant charges. If all relevant charges against Love are dropped, or otherwise changed such that they are no longer considered fraud or conspiracy to commit fraud, this market will immediately resolve to "No". A defendant will be considered convicted upon the court's acceptance of a guilty plea or the return of a guilty verdict, regardless of whether sentencing or formal entry of judgment occurs later. This market will resolve according to the initial judgment rendered in this case. Any appeals will have no bearing on the resolution of this market. The primary resolution source will be an official judgment delivered by the ruling court; however, other credible reporting may be used.**Recent federal charges against Daejon Love for wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud, filed after his August 24, 2026 arrest alongside accomplice Taylor Jamie Chan, form the core driver of current trader sentiment.** The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon detailed an alleged multi-year romance-and-investment scam targeting at least 26 women across several states, with roughly $1.3 million obtained through dating apps and fictitious opportunities; Love posed as a San Francisco 49ers player or wealthy investor, supported by fabricated social media and financial displays, while Chan posed as his adviser. The market remains closely balanced at 53.5% for “No” because the evidence in the criminal complaint appears robust—financial records show no legitimate NFL income or repaid investments—yet federal cases move slowly. Love remains in custody as a flight risk pending transfer to Oregon, with Chan’s initial appearance set for September 10, 2026; no trial date or indictment timeline has been set. Historical patterns for similar wire-fraud prosecutions show that while pleas are common, full resolution within roughly ten months is far from certain. Key swing factors include the speed of pre-trial proceedings, any plea negotiations, and whether the government prioritizes a swift resolution before the June 30, 2027 cutoff. Stronger signals of impending conviction, such as an early guilty plea or firm trial scheduling, could shift odds toward “Yes,” while further delays would reinforce the slight edge for “No.”
