China’s July CPI print of 0.5% year-over-year, the lowest in six months and below forecasts, reflected ongoing food deflation, soft domestic demand, and easing energy prices, establishing a low base for the August reading due from the National Bureau of Statistics around September 9. Weak manufacturing PMI data and persistent property-sector drag have reinforced trader expectations that annual inflation will remain contained near recent levels. The 0.7%-0.8% outcome leads market pricing as the most probable range consistent with these trends and modest policy support signals, while the 0.5%-0.6% bin captures downside risks from continued food and rent pressures; higher bins price in limited upside from commodity rebounds.
