Texas's 32nd congressional district underwent significant redistricting in 2025 that shifted its partisan balance from a Democratic-leaning seat to one favoring Republicans by a substantial margin on the Cook Partisan Voting Index. The prior Democratic incumbent opted to run in the newly configured neighboring district, leaving an open seat. In the March 2026 Republican primary, attorney Jace Yarbrough secured the nomination after leading a crowded field and advancing past a May runoff, benefiting from endorsements by key party figures. Democrat Dan Barrios won his party's primary. Forecasters rate the race as solidly or leaning Republican, with the November general election still three months away and subject to any shifts in national conditions or turnout patterns that could influence the final margin.
