Incumbent Robert Luna holds a strong lead in the 2026 Los Angeles County Sheriff race following the June primary, where he secured roughly 44% of the vote and advanced to the November 3 runoff against former Sheriff Alex Villanueva. Luna's prior 2022 victory over Villanueva, combined with his current position, underpins the market's assessment of his position. The runoff structure narrows the contest to these two candidates, with no other contenders advancing. Recent months have shown limited shifts in public positioning or new developments that would alter the dynamics, leaving the implied probabilities anchored in incumbency patterns and primary performance.
