Missouri voters will decide on November 3, 2026, whether to approve a legislatively referred constitutional amendment that would repeal the reproductive freedom provision ratified in 2024, reinstate a near-total abortion ban with limited exceptions for medical emergencies, fetal anomalies, rape, or incest (with rape/incest cases limited to 12 weeks), and embed permanent restrictions on gender transition surgeries, cross-sex hormones, and puberty blockers for minors. State law already prohibits these procedures for those under 18 until a 2027 sunset, and the Missouri Supreme Court upheld related statutory limits in January 2026. Republican leaders advanced the measure after the 2024 vote passed narrowly, citing concerns that voters had not intended broad access; critics describe the gender-care provisions as an attempt to broaden support. Recent reporting on the packaging of the issues has fueled opposition, contributing to trader consensus favoring rejection.
