Silver (XAG/USD) prices, recently trading near $66–67 per ounce amid volatility, reflect shifting Fed rate expectations, the U.S. dollar, and Treasury yields as primary near-term drivers. Dovish comments from officials including Governor Christopher Waller have eased September hike odds following Chair Kevin Warsh’s late-August Jackson Hole remarks, supporting a rebound from sub-$64 lows, while upcoming August nonfarm payrolls and PCE inflation data could reset policy bets. Structural support stems from a projected sixth consecutive supply deficit, robust industrial offtake in solar, EVs, and AI data centers, though elevated Chinese inventories and subdued ETF flows cap upside. Market-implied odds embed these macro crosscurrents rather than guarantees, with physical tightness providing a floor against deeper corrections.
