Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” holds a narrow edge in the Video of the Year market at 53% implied probability, reflecting her record five prior wins in the category, nine total VMA nominations, and sustained chart dominance from the Life of a Showgirl era. Madonna’s “Confessions II – The Film” sits at 24.5% as the most-nominated artist overall with 11 nods and the Sept. 27 ceremony opener, though its longer-form format faces a tighter voter base than Swift’s self-directed clip. Sabrina Carpenter’s “Tears,” Gener8ion’s “Storm,” Ariana Grande’s “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” and Bruno Mars’ “I Just Might” trail further behind, each buoyed by recent Hot 100 success but lacking Swift’s historical precedent or Madonna’s nomination volume. With fan voting closing Sept. 25 and the live CBS broadcast just days away, late momentum from social engagement or precursor buzz could still shift the crowded field.
