Ed Ruscha's “Cities Across the Globe” is expected to be sold at auction on October 7, 2026. This market will resolve to "Yes" if the final auction sale price paid for Ed Ruscha's “Cities Across the Globe” is greater than or equal to the listed price. Otherwise this market will resolve to "No". If no sale is completed, or the sale price is not known definitively, by October 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET this market will resolve to "No". This market will resolve based on the final "Lot Sold" price as reported in USD. If the final “Lot Sold” price is reported by Sotheby’s in a different currency, this market will resolve according to the USD value of the sale at the time of final sale. The market will resolve according to the final listed “Lot Sold” price on Sothebys (https://www.sothebys.com/en/buy/auction/2026/contemporary-curated-3).Ed Ruscha’s auction market has shown resilience, with a 2024 artist record of $68.3 million for a landmark 1960s painting and consistent 2025–2026 results for works on paper and prints that frequently exceed estimates. “Cities Across the Globe” is scheduled for sale October 7 at Sotheby’s in the Contemporary Curated auction, where traders are assessing thresholds from $600,000 upward based on recent comparable results in the mid-to-high six figures. Strong sell-through rates above 78 percent and demand for Pop-inflected pieces from the era support current market-implied odds, though final hammer price will hinge on condition, provenance, and competition from other lots that evening. No major updates have emerged since the market opened in mid-September.
