Aleksandar Vukic faces Daniel Altmaier in the first round of the National Bank Open on outdoor hard courts in Montreal. Altmaier, ranked near No. 60, enters with a higher standing than Vukic’s position around No. 100, though both players post modest 2026 win rates. Vukic arrives after defeating Tomas Barrios Vera in qualifying or early rounds and holds a narrow 2-1 head-to-head edge, including a straight-sets victory on hard courts in Tokyo. Altmaier’s recent results feature mixed outcomes on clay and limited hard-court preparation. The surface favors baseline rallies where both have shown flashes of strong serving, while any late withdrawal or fatigue from travel could shift the implied probabilities reflected in trader consensus.
