Lin Kuo-chang of the Democratic Progressive Party holds a modest lead in trader pricing for the November 28, 2026 Yilan County Magistrate race, with Wu Tsung-hsien of the Kuomintang close behind and Chen Wan-hui of the Taiwan People's Party further back. Nominations by the major parties, including KMT-TPP coordination on a joint nominee, have shaped a competitive contest where early 2026 polling showed Lin narrowly ahead in head-to-head matchups. Recent approval of the High Speed Rail extension to Yilan has highlighted infrastructure and economic issues that could influence local voter priorities. With the race remaining within a narrow band, factors such as turnout among key voting blocs, further campaign events, and any shifts in opposition alliance dynamics could alter the balance ahead of election day.
