The 2026 NFL season opens amid notable parity, with numerous franchises posting similar projected win totals near 10-11 games after extensive offseason roster upgrades and coaching adjustments. Blockbuster trades and signings have strengthened contenders across conferences, including defensive reinforcements for the Rams and offensive additions for the Patriots, while established powers like the Seahawks, Eagles, Bills, and Ravens maintain balanced depth. Strength-of-schedule variations and injury risks further level expectations, preventing any single team from separating in trader consensus. This competitive landscape sustains tight implied probabilities for the best regular-season record, as historical patterns show multiple squads capable of 12-plus wins in a given year.
