Preseason Week 1 results have begun clarifying roster battles and quarterback situations across the league, with early evaluations of rookies like Fernando Mendoza and veterans in competition influencing expectations for teams entering the 2026 regular season. Division strength remains a primary driver, as projected contenders in the AFC North and NFC West face tougher paths to the seven-team playoff format compared to weaker groups. Recent form from the prior campaign, combined with offseason roster moves and injury recoveries, continues to define market positioning, while schedule difficulty and home-field advantages factor into long-term assessments. Traders monitor training camp developments and upcoming exhibition games for shifts in implied probabilities, noting that preseason outcomes offer limited predictive value but highlight momentum for contenders.
