Lula maintains a commanding lead in trader consensus for first place in Bahia's first-round presidential vote, reflecting the state's longstanding status as a PT stronghold in the Northeast with deep historical loyalty to the incumbent. Recent national polling shows Lula at 38–42% overall ahead of the October 4 contest, but regional patterns amplify his edge in Bahia, where he captured nearly 70% in 2022's first round amid strong local party organization and voter alignment on social programs. Campaign launch in mid-August and continued focus on economic measures have reinforced this positioning. Even with a dominant market price above 90%, shifts remain possible from late economic pressures in the state, opposition consolidation around Flávio Bolsonaro, or unexpected turnout changes among key blocs.
