Recent polls place the AfD near or at the top in Berlin for the first time, with support in the 16-19% range alongside the CDU, Linke, and Greens, creating a fragmented field that makes seat projections highly sensitive to minor shifts in voter preference. The September 20 election occurs amid AfD momentum from strong national results and gains in other eastern states, yet Berlin's urban electorate and competition from established parties keep outcomes clustered around 26-31 seats. Low-single-digit movements in polling averages for any major contender, or shifts in turnout among younger or eastern-district voters, could quickly separate the leading ranges.
