This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Chicago O'Hare Intl Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 20 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=kord This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Recent NWS and model guidance for Chicago shows a cooling trend driven by northeast flow, widespread cloud cover, and periods of showers and thunderstorms associated with a passing system.** Official forecasts from the National Weather Service Chicago office indicate daytime highs near 68°F on September 20 with showers likely, followed by a Sunday night low around 55°F, while other extended outlooks place the daily minimum in the low-to-mid 60s amid variable precipitation timing and intensity. **Market-implied odds cluster tightly around 60–65°F (roughly 80% combined probability across the top three bins) because short-range models differ modestly on the precise overnight minimum.** Key differentiating factors include the degree of cloud cover and precipitation—which limit nocturnal radiative cooling—and the strength of northeasterly advection bringing cooler, more stable air. Clearer breaks could allow temperatures to dip toward the lower 50s, while persistent clouds, rain, or stronger mixing keep readings in the mid-60s. Historical September averages for the date (high ~74°F, low ~57°F) provide context, but the current synoptic setup favors a milder outcome than climatology. **Upcoming NWS forecast updates and new model runs over the next 24–48 hours will likely refine the exact low, especially as the system’s timing and moisture details evolve.** Traders are pricing in this scientific uncertainty rather than committing to extremes.
