**Rick Allen (R), the incumbent, secured the Republican nomination outright in the May 19, 2026, primary with more than 83 percent of the vote against limited opposition.** The Democratic side advanced Ceretta Smith after a June 16 runoff. Georgia conducts its U.S. House general elections on a plurality basis with no runoff provision in the November 3 general election, so the contest between Allen and Smith will conclude with a single-round result. The district’s R+7 partisan lean, consistent Republican performance in recent cycles, and absence of any scheduled or procedural mechanisms that would trigger a second round underpin the 94.5 percent trader consensus on an outright first-round winner. No recent polling shifts, candidate withdrawals, or legal challenges have altered this baseline assessment.
