Caitlin Clark holds a narrow lead in assists per game among active 2026 WNBA players at approximately 8.3, just ahead of Alyssa Thomas at 8.2, according to recent league leaderboards, with both far outpacing Jordin Canada near 7.5. Clark’s playmaking volume for the Indiana Fever, including multiple 20-point, 10-assist outings that have extended her own single-season records, underpins trader preference despite fewer games played than Thomas. The Phoenix Mercury forward maintains strong positioning through consistent high-assist performances, frequent double-doubles, and elevated usage in a system that rewards her passing and rebounding. Canada, Chelsea Gray, and Jackie Young trail with lower per-game averages and less consistent top-line production, while rookies like Olivia Miles and Paige Bueckers remain long shots based on current sample sizes and team roles. The market reflects the tight statistical margin and remaining schedule uncertainty between the frontrunners.
