Chelsea's £120m valuation and self-imposed August 14 bid deadline have anchored trader sentiment, with no formal offer materializing from Manchester City despite ongoing links tied to Rodri's potential Barcelona exit. New manager Xabi Alonso has publicly endorsed Enzo Fernandez as a core midfielder and vice-captain preparing for the 2026-27 Premier League opener, while the Argentine's contract runs until 2032. Earlier summer interest from Real Madrid ended with an official club denial. These developments have elevated the implied probability of Fernandez remaining at Stamford Bridge far above alternatives, though City's continued monitoring before the September 1 window close keeps a narrow path open for a late move.
