This market will resolve according to the total number of valid votes cast in the 2026 midterm election for Governor of Vermont. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to the lowest range bracket. All votes certified for candidates or non-candidate options in the specified election are included. Invalidated or blank votes are not included. In ranked-choice or preferential systems, the first-round vote total will be used. The primary resolution source for this market will be the official results of the 2026 midterm election for Governor of Vermont, as published by the state electoral authority responsible for certifying the results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Vermont's 2026 gubernatorial election on November 3 features incumbent Republican Phil Scott facing Democrat Amanda Janoo following her narrow primary victory, with recent polls showing Scott ahead by single digits. This moderate contest, combined with Vermont's automatic ballot mailing to registered voters, creates uncertainty over total ballots cast, as historical off-year turnout has ranged from roughly 278,000 in 2018 to over 370,000 in presidential cycles like 2024. Low early voting in the August primary and typical summer scheduling factors suggest potential for subdued participation unless stronger party mobilization or late campaign developments increase engagement among key voting blocs. Traders' even pricing across turnout ranges reflects this balance of structural elements and variable enthusiasm heading into the general election.
