Recent results underscore this edge, with Carlsen posting 9.5/11 on August 4, Firouzja matching that mark on July 28, and Lê Tuấn Minh claiming the August 18 event at 9.5/11 amid fields of 400-plus titled players. Participation patterns, recent form against peers like Alexey Sarana or Jan-Krzysztof Duda, and any last-minute schedule conflicts or rest advantages ahead of the September 1 start will influence implied probabilities for top-8 finishes in the competitive Swiss format.
