The 2026-27 Serie A campaign is only a handful of matchdays old, leaving the lower half of the table unusually fluid after a summer of roster turnover and managerial shifts. Promoted sides Monza, Frosinone, and Venezia, along with perennial mid-table sides such as Lecce, Genoa, and Cagliari, enter with comparable squad depths and recent form that project them into a tight 38-48 point band. Historical patterns show the battle for 17th typically spans six to eight clubs, and early results have produced no clear separation, spreading implied probability evenly across the field. Late-season momentum swings, fixture congestion, and potential injuries will likely decide which side lands exactly on the survival line.
