Recent polls for the September 6, 2026, Saxony-Anhalt Landtag election show the AfD holding a clear lead near 41-43 percent, positioning the CDU consistently in second place at 22-24 percent. Die Linke trails further back around 13 percent, with the SPD, BSW, Greens, and FDP all below 7 percent. This stable gap, reflected across multiple surveys since spring, underpins trader consensus on the CDU securing second place. The CDU-SPD-FDP coalition government and its candidate Sven Schulze continue to anchor the center-right vote, while no major late shifts or scandals have altered the ordering. A sudden surge by Die Linke or SPD, or an unexpected AfD collapse, could theoretically alter the ranking before election day.
