This market resolves according to the conference affiliation of the team that wins the College Football Playoff National Championship for the 2026-27 season. The outcome corresponding to the conference of the championship-winning team will resolve "Yes"; all other outcomes will resolve "No". A team's conference is its official conference affiliation for football during the 2026-27 season, as recognized by the NCAA and the College Football Playoff. If the College Football Playoff National Championship for the 2026-27 season is canceled or not played such that no champion is crowned, this market will resolve "Other". The primary resolution source will be official information from the College Football Playoff (https://collegefootballplayoff.com) and the NCAA; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The SEC and Big Ten lead trader sentiment in this conference futures market due to their unmatched depth of College Football Playoff contenders entering the 2026 season. Recent Big Ten dominance—three straight national titles and multiple playoff berths—has elevated programs like Ohio State, Oregon, and defending champion Indiana, while the SEC counters with elite talent at Georgia, Texas, and others amid strong recruiting and physical roster construction. Preseason power rankings place the Big Ten narrowly ahead, but the SEC's historical edge in high-stakes matchups keeps implied probabilities bunched. Lower odds for the ACC, Big 12, and Group of Five conferences reflect shallower national title paths and fewer blue-chip programs capable of sustained runs. This balance reflects the wisdom of crowds assessing schedule strength, conference title implications, and recent form across Power conferences.
