Olympique de Marseille and Stade Rennais lead trader consensus for Ligue 1 Europa League spots heading into the 2026-27 campaign, which opens in late August. Both clubs enter with recent European experience, deeper squads after targeted summer reinforcements, and proven mid-table consistency that typically secures fifth or sixth place under UEFA allocation rules. The fifth-placed side earns a direct Europa League league-phase berth while the Coupe de France winner can claim an additional spot if outside the top six. Pre-season form, injury reports, and fixture difficulty in the opening months will shape early standings, with Marseille and Rennes favored for their squad stability and historical European pedigree over emerging sides lacking comparable depth.
