Multiple tracks from major artists are locked in a tight race for Spotify's number two song the week of August 21, with market-implied odds clustered between 45 and 50 percent across more than a dozen contenders. Ariana Grande's "Petal" and "hate that i made you love me," Dominic Fike's "Babydoll," Malcolm Todd's "Earrings," Tame Impala's "Loser," Shakira and Burna Boy's "Dai Dai," Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj's "Beauty and a Beat," Steve Lacy's "Oh Yeah?," and BTS's "SWIM" show nearly identical momentum, driven by comparable streaming velocity, fan engagement, and playlist placement in the final days before the chart period closes. This balance highlights how daily play counts, algorithmic boosts, and any last-minute promotional spikes could decide the ranking, leaving the outcome highly sensitive to real-time platform data.
