Liga MX's 2026 Apertura remains highly competitive after the opening matchdays, with early results showing tight point totals and goal differences across the top half of the tabla. Tijuana, Cruz Azul, and Atlas sit atop the standings on six points each following strong starts, while Club América, Pachuca, Toluca, and Guadalajara hover just behind with three to four points from two or three fixtures. Off-season roster adjustments, including key arrivals at Toluca and Guadalajara, plus lingering questions around Cruz Azul's coaching transition and venue situation after their Clausura title, have kept multiple clubs in contention for a top-two finish. This parity in form, squad depth, and fixture difficulty sustains the narrow spread in implied probabilities for second place.

In the event of a tie, this market will resolve to the team officially recognized by Liga MX as finishing in second place in the Apertura final phase. If multiple teams are officially awarded second place, the market will resolve to the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If at any point it becomes impossible for the listed club to finish 2nd in the 2026 Liga MX Apertura competition (e.g. they are mathematically unable to achieve enough points), the market will resolve to "No".
If the 2026 Liga MX Apertura is cancelled, postponed after December 27, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no 2nd place team declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The primary resolution source will be official information from Liga MX. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
