Ukrainian civil airspace, including the Kyiv Flight Information Region, has remained closed to commercial operations since February 2022 amid the ongoing conflict, with Boryspil Airport (KBP) maintained in operational readiness but without passenger or cargo flights. A March 2026 government working group is coordinating phased reopening plans, while airport management reports preserved infrastructure, valid certifications, retained staff through training programs, and ongoing airline discussions with carriers such as Lufthansa Group, Wizz Air, and LOT. Recent statements from officials, including the Lviv mayor in July 2026, indicate technical readiness for resumption within weeks once security conditions allow, yet persistent Russian strikes on the Boryspil area and broader Ukrainian targets in September 2026 underscore the dominant barrier of airspace protection. EASA conflict-zone advisories and Ukrainian NOTAMs continue to restrict civil aviation, with any near-term aircraft movements dependent on verifiable improvements in air defense and threat levels rather than fixed timelines.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if at least one manned aircraft successfully lands at or takes off from Boryspil International Airport between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".
Eligible flights include any manned fixed-wing aircraft or rotorcraft (helicopter), regardless of registration, owner, or purpose (e.g., commercial passenger, cargo, military transport, diplomatic or state flight, technical ferry, or emergency landing).
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs, drones, or loitering munitions), touch-and-go passes without a full touchdown and stop or taxi, and landings or departures occurring outside the physical boundaries of Boryspil International Airport will not count toward the resolution of this market.
The primary resolution source will be verified radar and ADS-B flight tracking data (e.g., Flightradar24, ADS-B Exchange) and official announcements from Boryspil International Airport, the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine, or the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine; however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
