Josh Rock enters the 2026 New Zealand Darts Masters first-round match as the clear favorite at 69.5% implied probability, driven by his strong recent form and higher ranking. The 25-year-old Northern Irishman has secured multiple PDC titles in 2025-2026, including the World Cup of Darts and the Austrian Darts Open, while posting consistent averages above 95-100 in key events and demonstrating sharp finishing. Veteran Simon Whitlock, the 57-year-old Australian and recent ANZ Premier League winner, brings experience and home-region support but has shown more variable results at major level, with averages typically in the mid-80s to low-90s. In a best-of-11 legs format, Rock's superior scoring power, checkout percentage, and momentum give him the edge, though Whitlock's proven big-stage resilience leaves room for a competitive opener.
