National media coverage of Nigel Farage’s July resignation amid donation scrutiny has elevated Count Binface as the primary challenger in the August 13 Clacton by-election after major parties withdrew. This has concentrated protest and tactical votes behind the novelty candidate, whose campaign pledges and Ipsos polling lead in national preference surveys sustain visibility. Traders price the 10–30% band highest because local Reform loyalty, low expected turnout, and the inherent ceiling for satirical independents constrain broader gains, while any surge in anti-incumbent mobilization could push results toward the upper end of that range before polling day.
