Recent August inflation data at 1.7% month-over-month, the lowest since mid-2025 and in line with analyst forecasts, has reinforced expectations for continued disinflation into September under the Milei administration's crawling-peg exchange rate and fiscal measures. Central bank REM surveys project 1.8% for September, with limited dispersion among forecasters, while core measures and regulated prices have shown stability. The tight market-implied odds between the 1.6-1.8% and 1.9-2.1% brackets reflect uncertainty over potential volatility in seasonal food items, utilities, and education costs versus the broader trajectory toward sub-2% prints. September CPI data, due mid-October, will test whether momentum holds amid subdued demand and peso stability.
