**Heightened U.S.-China tensions and CXMT’s placement on the Pentagon’s 1260H military companies list continue to anchor trader skepticism that Apple will source DRAM from the Chinese supplier in 2026.** Despite Apple’s lobbying for regulatory cover and early testing of CXMT LPDDR5X chips for China-bound devices, lawmakers have signaled strong opposition, raising risks of Entity List escalation or reputational damage. AI-driven memory shortages have pushed prices sharply higher, prompting Apple to explore alternatives to Samsung, SK hynix, and Micron, yet CXMT has prioritized domestic buyers such as Huawei and Xiaomi while rejecting some pricing requests. With no confirmed supply agreement and production capacity constrained, the market-implied odds reflect persistent regulatory, political, and supply-chain barriers that would need to shift materially for a deal to materialize before year-end.
