Joe Pyfer’s emphatic March 2026 TKO of Israel Adesanya elevated the middleweight contender into title contention talks, yet the cancellation of his planned August UFC 330 matchup against Caio Borralho due to the Brazilian’s rib injury has left multiple ranked options viable. Nassourdine Imavov’s extended win streak, Dricus Du Plessis’s former-championship pedigree, Brendan Allen’s consistent contender positioning, Borralho’s prior callout, and Anthony Hernandez’s recent form create a crowded field where matchmakers could reasonably pair Pyfer against any of them. The near-even trader consensus around 38–46 percent reflects this lack of a confirmed booking and the division’s depth, with no single stylistic or ranking factor separating the candidates decisively.
