Tlaxcala’s June 2027 gubernatorial election remains wide open more than ten months out, with trader prices reflecting an unresolved contest centered on Morena’s internal selection. Alfonso Sánchez García and Ana Lilia Rivera Rivera lead the field as the main contenders for the party’s nomination, posting the highest implied probabilities while nearly every other named aspirant trades in the low single digits. Recent internal surveys and preference polls show the two front-runners running within a handful of points of each other, a pattern consistent with the absence of a decisive party mechanism or major endorsement shift to date. Because Morena has held the governorship since 2021 and dominates state legislative seats, the ultimate nominee is widely viewed as the presumptive favorite, keeping the overall market competitive until the party’s process clarifies. Any near-term movement in polling averages, formal pre-candidate registration, or high-profile alignments within Morena could quickly widen the gap between the top two and the rest of the field.
