This market will resolve according to the total number of valid votes cast in the 2026 midterm election for Senator from North Carolina. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to the lowest range bracket. All votes certified for candidates or non-candidate options in the specified election are included. Invalidated or blank votes are not included. In ranked-choice or preferential systems, the first-round vote total will be used. The primary resolution source for this market will be the official results of the 2026 midterm election for Senator from North Carolina, as published by the state electoral authority responsible for certifying the results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The closely matched probabilities across turnout ranges for North Carolina’s 2026 U.S. Senate election reflect uncertainty around overall participation in a contest between Democrat Roy Cooper and Republican Michael Whatley. Democratic voters show higher levels of interest and motivation to vote in recent surveys, while Republican certainty to participate has softened, creating offsetting pressures on expected ballot volume. Both campaigns are emphasizing ground operations, early voting, and absentee ballot outreach ahead of November 3, consistent with historical midterm patterns in the state. Trader consensus remains spread across the 3.5–4.7 million range because the race’s competitiveness and enthusiasm dynamics have not yet produced a clear signal on final participation. Late shifts in national political momentum, intensified get-out-the-vote efforts, changes in voter registration data, or Election Day weather and logistics could widen separation among the ranges.
