This market will resolve according to the total number of valid votes cast in the first round of the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Mississippi. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to the lowest range bracket. All votes certified for candidates or non-candidate options in the specified election are included. Invalidated or blank votes are not included. In ranked-choice or preferential systems, the first-round vote total will be used. The primary resolution source for this market will be the official results of the first round of the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Mississippi, as published by the state electoral authority responsible for certifying the results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Mississippi's March 10, 2026, primaries featured competitive U.S. Senate contests alongside other federal and state races, with Democratic nominee Scott Colom and Republican incumbent Cindy Hyde-Smith advancing after strong showings. Democratic primary participation in the Senate race nearly matched Republican totals at roughly 150,000–160,000 votes each, reflecting elevated enthusiasm among Black voters and challengers relative to 2018 benchmarks. Total ballots cast across all primaries aligned closely with recent midterm and gubernatorial patterns near 800,000, supported by localized mobilization efforts and the absence of a high-profile presidential contest to suppress participation. Trader consensus around the 700K–800K range reflects these verified primary results and comparisons to historical turnout baselines in a state with consistently low overall voter rates. No major late adjustments to certification have shifted positioning since the contests concluded.
