Recent National Weather Service and ensemble forecasts position the lowest temperature in San Francisco on September 21 near 58°F, driven by persistent onshore westerly flow and marine layer influence that moderates overnight cooling along the coast. A cutoff low moving into the region has interrupted a prior warming trend, producing mid-to-upper 50s lows in model runs for Monday night amid mostly cloudy conditions and light southwest winds. This aligns with the historical average low of 55.7°F for the date while remaining above record minima near 51°F. Traders appear to weigh these stable coastal dynamics against minor model spread in dew points and cloud cover, with final NWS updates and any late adjustments to the marine layer expected to refine probabilities before resolution.
