The tight clustering of trader consensus around 46–49.5% for several clubs in the Liga FPD 2026 runner-up market underscores the league’s early-season parity and lack of a dominant second-place contender. Deportivo Saprissa has opened the Apertura with strong results and a clear points lead, yet the race for runner-up remains fluid as Cartaginés, Alajuelense, and Inter de San Carlos post competitive records while Herediano and Escorpiones de Belén navigate inconsistent starts following recent title and promotion campaigns. Historical depth among traditional sides, combined with potential for form swings, home/away splits, and mid-season roster adjustments, keeps implied probabilities bunched across Sporting San José, Puntarenas, San Carlos, Pérez Zeledón, and others.
