Romina Ccuno enters the W35 Chacabuco first-round match on outdoor clay as the clear favorite against local wild card Sofia Meabe, driven by a substantial WTA ranking gap (roughly 500–700 versus 1300-plus) and greater professional experience at age 23. Ccuno, the third-ranked Peruvian woman, secured a straight-sets qualifying victory earlier on August 5 and brings consistent recent form on the ITF circuit. Meabe, an 18-year-old Argentine, faces a steep challenge in her first meeting with Ccuno, though home support and potential adaptation to the surface could provide limited upset potential. Market pricing reflects trader consensus on these disparities in ranking, schedule strength, and head-to-head inexperience for the younger player.
