Jannik Opitz faces Stefan Horia Haita in the opening round of the Plovdiv 3 Challenger on outdoor clay. Haita, the younger Romanian ranked No. 676, enters as the clear favorite after a strong clay-court run that included multiple ITF titles and deep runs in August events, highlighted by several straight-sets victories. Opitz, a 28-year-old German left-hander ranked outside the top 800 with more doubles success, holds limited recent singles momentum on the surface. This first meeting pits Haita’s break-point efficiency and set-winning consistency against Opitz’s experience, though the clay conditions and Haita’s current form underpin the market’s implied probability favoring the Romanian.
