Rhys Lawlor, a 17-year-old British junior with an ATP ranking near 1500, faces 25-year-old Frenchman Nicolas Tepmahc, ranked around 616, in Roehampton Challenger qualifying on grass. Tepmahc brings greater professional experience and a stronger recent record on the ITF and Challenger circuits, giving him the edge in consistency and match toughness. Lawlor benefits from local support and youth-driven upside on home soil, though his limited senior results create uncertainty against a higher-ranked opponent. The matchup appears closely contested based on current trader pricing, with surface familiarity and any late fitness updates likely to influence outcomes in this early-round encounter.
