Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus indicate a minimum temperature near 73°F for Los Angeles on September 10 amid an extreme heat warning, with highs reaching the mid-80s under sunny conditions. Elevated overnight lows stem from high dew points in the mid-60s to mid-70s, driven by residual moisture from former Hurricane Marie combined with strong high pressure that suppresses the typical marine layer and radiative cooling. Light winds and clear skies further limit temperature drops below the 70°F threshold, contrasting sharply with the 64°F climatological average. Traders weigh the strength of this heat-moisture coupling against potential late-night fog formation or slight forecast revisions from updated NHC and local model runs, which could shift the observed minimum by a few degrees before daily records close.
