Craig Hodge holds a slight edge in trader consensus for Coquitlam's October 17 mayoral race, reflecting his status as a longtime city councillor backed by outgoing Mayor Richard Stewart's endorsement and an early campaign launch focused on continuity in growth management and community services. With nominations closing only days ago, the large field of candidates—including fellow councillor Trish Mandewo and others such as Madhavee Inamdar—keeps the contest tightly contested under first-past-the-post rules, where vote splitting among challengers sustains uncertainty. Recent campaign activity and the absence of major late-breaking shifts in local priorities like housing and infrastructure have so far prevented clearer separation in market pricing ahead of general voting day.
