Maria Jose Sanchez Uribe, the 17-year-old Colombian ranked around 1125, enters this W15 hard-court opener in Campos do Jordao with stronger recent results than her opponent, including semifinal appearances in prior W15 events. Marina Bulbarella, the 20-year-old Argentine at roughly 1154, has posted mostly early exits and a limited 2-6 record in 2026, primarily on clay. With no prior head-to-head and both players competing at similar ITF levels, recent form, hard-court adaptation after clay-heavy schedules, and physical freshness stand out as the main variables. The Brazilian tournament draw and qualifying path add standard early-round uncertainty typical of low-prize-money events.
